Dream Machine UK PPPoE Settings

This post mainly covers using the UniFi Dream Machine(s) in the UK on business grade Fibre (FTTP) and also covers setting up with multiple static IP addresses.

The settings for the following ISP's are covered;

  • TalkTalk Business (TTB)
  • BT Business (BT)

These settings are for a full fibre connection, usually you'll have a Openreach ONT that you'll plug directly into the UDM/UDR WAN port. This negates the use of the poor ISP supplied router and should provide a much greater quality of service.

TalkTalk Business PPPoE Settings

The settings for TalkTalk Business PPPoE on the UDM/UDR etc if you have the static ip boost (4 IP's) are different than without, as the setting would normally be DHCPv4 and the static ip would automatically be set, but as we have the 4 static IP boost ( Only 2 useable, as the first of the four is the gateway address and the last of the four is the broadcast address) things are slightly different.

If we are given the following 4 IP's: (212.139.200.12/30) 212.139.200.12-212.139.200.15

Setting Value
IPv4 Connection PPPOE
Usename autoconfig@talktalkbusiness.net
Password ttb1234
Additional IP Addresses 212.139.200.13/32
Additional IP Addresses 212.139.200.14/32

BT Business PPPoE Settings

The settings for BT Business broadband PPPoE on the UDM/UDR etc are similar in that we still use PPPoE. For BT Business we get 8 static IP's which 5 are useable.

If we are given the following 8 IP's: (213.123.203.50/29) 213.123.203.50-213.123.203.58

Setting Value
